How to make Fireworks in Minecraft
From flying around your world to creating wonderful light displays, fireworks have several uses in Minecraft. This blog post will show you how you can get your own fireworks and the several ways in which you can use them!
What are the different types of fireworks?
In Minecraft there are two major types of fireworks. The first is the basic firework rocket which does not create an explosion when activated. Because of this, these basic rockets are generally used to fly with an elytra.
To craft this firework, combine paper and gunpowder in a crafting table or grid. You must use one piece of paper but you can use anywhere from 1 to 3 pieces of gunpowder. The more gunpowder used, the more powerful the rocket is. An example crafting recipe is shown below:
The second type of firework is an explosive one which emits a specific color when activated. To craft these fireworks you must add a firework star to the crafting recipe as shown below:
To craft a firework star, you combine gunpowder with your preferred dye as shown below:
Uses of Fireworks
Firework Rockets can be used to create insanely detailed images in the sky! You can place rockets in dispensers and activate them to automate this firework process!
Firework Rockets can be used with an elytra to travel thousands of blocks in nearly no time at all. Simply right click a firework rocket to activate it. You will get a boost in flight immediately! You can even place rockets in your offhand for more efficient flying!
A lesser known use is that firework rockets can actually be shot with a crossbow and do insane amounts of damage (similar to a tnt explosion).
Quick Tip
Always check to make sure that you are using basic firework rockets when flying. If you are not careful, you might lose a lot of health from the damage of explosive rockets!
Fun Fact
When completing a village raid, you may see fireworks go up into the sky, celebrating your victory!
